Multiple reports that House Leaders will add mandatory E-Verify to Goodlatte-Ryan-Denham Amnesty, but bill still lacks complete end to chain migration. Call to oppose!

Multiple media outlets are reporting that negotiators for the Goodlatte-Ryan-Denham Amnesty bill, H.R. 6136, have agreed to add mandatory E-Verify to the legislation. However, the proposal still falls well-short of the original Goodlatte bill that fell just 20 votes short of passing through the House last week.

House Leaders are hoping to bring H.R. 6136 to the House floor for a vote on Wednesday, so once again, we're asking for you urgent phone calls, telling your U.S. Representative to oppose the Goodlatte-Ryan-Denham Amnesty, H.R. 6136.

E-VERIFY NOT ENOUGH TO FIX FLAWED AMNESTY BILL

While adding mandatory E-Verify to the Goodlatte-Ryan-Denham Amnesty bill is a good step forward, it's still not enough to fix the deeply flawed legislation.

The bill still lacks a complete end to chain migration, leaving the largest category -- the parents of U.S. citizens -- in place; in 2016, the feds issued nearly 175,000 green cards to parents of U.S. citizens. And by leaving this category in place, the 1.8 million-plus illegal aliens who would benefit from the amnesty provisions in H.R. 6136 would be able to reward their parents with green cards once they receive citizenship through the special green card system the legislation creates.

The bill would also allow any illegal alien in the United States who is under the age of 40, even if they're in removal proceedings or have already received a final order for removal, to apply for the amnesty, whether they're eligible for it or not. This means that immigration enforcement across the country would come to a virtual halt for several years while these illegal aliens wait to have their applications adjudicated.

We don't anticipate these flaws, or several other flaws in the legislation, to be fixed before it comes to the floor for a final vote on Wednesday afternoon. So please call and tell your U.S. Representative to oppose the Goodlatte-Ryan-Denham Amnesty bill, H.R. 6136.
