4/20/2015 North Carolina FreedomWorks Urgent Action Alert
Over the years, you have heard a great deal from us about Senate Bill 3: North Carolina’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard.
We have a chance to fix many of the problems Senate Bill 3 created!
H681, “NC Energy Ratepayers Protection Act” has been introduced and will be heard in committee any day!
While FreedomWorks would like to see a full repeal of Senate Bill 3, H681 goes a long way toward fixing many of the unintended consequences that S3 created.
FreedomWorks officially supports H681, “NC Energy Ratepayers Protection Act”.
We need your help.
TODAY if possible or as soon as possible, please contact the members of the House Committee on Finance and the House Committee on Public Utilities. The bill must make it through both committees and we do not know where it will be heard first. We would suggest you focus on Finance first then move to Public Utilities. Please ask the committee members to support H681!

President Obama’s nomination to replace Eric Holder as U.S. Attorney General is Loretta Lynch. Yesterday in a U.S. Senate hearing she said Obama’s mass amnesty for five million illegal immigrants was lawful, and she had no problem with illegal immigrants working in the USA. She has no business being judge for a First Grade game of marbles, let alone U.S. Attorney General.
Contact our two U.S. Senators from North Carolina and tell them to VOTE NO on Loretta Lynch’s confirmation for Attorney General. Tell them to VOTE YES to defund Obama’s unlawful amnesty for illegals.
Call: U.S. Senator Richard Burr (800) 685-8916 at his Winston-Salem office or (202) 224-3154 at his Washington, DC office or email at http://www.burr.senate.gov/
1/28/2015: from Numbers USA
Because of your activism, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has announced that the Senate will consider the House-passed DHS funding bill that defunds Pres. Obama’s executive actions on immigration after it wraps up its ongoing debate on the Keystone XL pipeline. That debate is expected to wrap up by early next week.
Yesterday, the Vice-Chair of the Senate Republican Conference, and also part of the GOP leadership team, Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) called for passage of the House-passed DHS funding bill.
The President said on 22 separate occasions he didn’t have the authority to do what he now has done, and what the Congress should object to. This is an important fight to have. I think we should do everything we can to persuade at least half a dozen Democrats that they should join us to get this done. Sometimes you don’t know how these legislative battles go if you don’t have them, and we intend to have this one.
Make sure your Senator knows you expect the Senate to have this legislative battle!

The D.C. City Council is working to undermine religious liberties in its jurisdiction. Two bills—both passed by the Council and signed by Mayor Muriel Bowser—will saddle religious organizations and employers with a choice between upholding their beliefs as they perform their organizational missions or complying with a coercive government regulation that forces them to violate their beliefs and missions.
