(August 12, 2015), Columbus, NC:  The Sons of Liberty Riders (SOLR) of North Carolina and South Carolina are hosting their third annual 9.11 Benghazi Memorial Ride on Saturday,  September 12th, 2015.  In partnership with the Asheville Tea Party and the Bikers Against Hunger Ministry, the program will once again honor the memory of the victims of 911 with prayer and a speakers program.  The Memorial begins with an invocation at 10:00 A.M. in Columbus, NC, followed by an escorted motorcycle ride to the Harley Davidson Dealer in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where the formal speakers’ program starts at 11:30 A.M.

Veterans Park in Columbus, North Carolina is the staging area for riders with registration beginning at 9:15A.M.  There will be brief welcome remarks followed by an invocation and blessing of the bikes.  Riders will depart Columbus promptly at 10:00 A.M. and travel by police escort to the Harley Davidson dealer in Spartanburg, South Carolina where there is an impressive line-up of speakers from 11:30 – 1:30 P.M.   Speakers include Dr. Dan Eichenbaum, host of The Freedom Forum Blog and Radio Program as well as Josh Kimbrell and Dr. Tony Beam, Christian and Conservative Radio Show hosts on Christian 660 AM Talk out of Greenville SC.   Their bios follow.

The inspiration for the event three years ago was the tragedy that occurrred on Sept 11th, 2012 in Benghazi, Libya where the U.S. Mission was attacked and overrun by Libyan rebels.  That attack resulted in the tragic deaths of four Americans:  Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.   SOLR North Carolina Director, Dick Shaughnessy, underscores the gravity of the event this way.  “Our program focuses on the travesty of Benghazi and the deception that followed.   It’s a time to remember the brave men who sacrificed their lives in service to their country and a time to reflect on the betrayal that will forever define the government’s response to the deadly events of the evening of Sept 11th,   2012.“

Motorcycle riders must register in Columbus starting at 9:15A.M.  This is a FREE event.  The public is invited and welcome to attend at both locations.  Vendors are welcome with no set-up costs though pre-registration is required. There will be food and music at our destination in Spartanburg.  The Sons of Liberty Riders (SOLR) is a national organization whose mission is to unite patriots for the cause of liberty with chapters throughout the United States, including North Carolina and South Carolina.  For more information about this event, contact Dick Shaughnessy at 352.638.2981 or Bill Johnston at 864.982.4329.         =443END
