Suppose a friend presented you with a jar of 10,000 jelly beans, you would be delighted, right?  But then suppose the friend admitted there might be 10 jelly beans in the jar that were poisonous, so poisonous in fact, that you and others could be killed by just one.  Would you accept that jar of jelly beans?  Would you eat any of them?  This is what the Refugee Resettlement Program is asking Americans to do.  We are being asked to accept 10,000 refugees into our communities all across the country, Asheville included.  We are told the refugees will be vetted so none with terrorist intentions will be allowed in, but we already know that doesn’t work.  It makes no sense to tempt terror, have we forgotten San Bernadino and Orlando already?

I urge you to oppose Asheville’s plan to establish a refugee resettlement.   (149 words)
