Establishment Republicans are trying to give us #RepublicanWelfare with #RyanCare = Obamacare 2.0.  See our Action Plan which includes FreedomWorks Day of Action 3/15.
From Jason Pye
Director of Public Policy, FreedomWorks
With the ink barely dry on the legislation, powerful conservative groups started lining up against House Republicans’ plan to replace ObamaCare, with Club for Growth saying it would aggressively push for GOP lawmakers to vote against it.
With little early defense from the White House, the groups issued sharply worded statements against the House GOP replacement bill, which would offer less generous insurance tax credits and phase out the law’s Medicaid expansion while striking its unpopular individual mandate penalty.
The Heritage Foundation’s advocacy arm called it “bad policy.” FreedomWorks panned it as “ObamaCare-lite.” And the Club for Growth called it a “warmed-over substitute for government-run health care.” Read more here…
Outside conservative groups on Tuesday blasted House Republicans’ newly unveiled healthcare proposal, saying it doesn’t live up to the GOP’s promise of fully repealing ObamaCare.
The Club for Growth dubbed the proposal “RyanCare” and threatened to record names of Republicans who vote for the bill unless it includes significant changes.
Heritage Action, FreedomWorks and the Koch brothers-backed Americans for Prosperity, a group aligned with billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch, also issued scathing statements highly critical of the “American Health Care Act,” which was released on Monday.
FreedomWorks panned the GOP bill as “ObamaCare-Lite,” while AFP labeled it “ObamaCare 2.0.” Read more here…
After a long wait and leaked discussion drafts, the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee have finally released their recommendations to repeal and replace ObamaCare. These committees were originally due to have their recommendations submitted to the House Budget Committee on January 27, as required by S.Con.Res. 3.
Ways and Means and Energy and Commerce will move relatively quickly on their recommendations. Both committees have scheduled markups for Wednesday, March 8. Ways and Means will convene in 1100 Longworth at 10:30 am. Energy and Commerce will meet in 2123 Rayburn at the same time.
The good news is that the individual and employer mandates are zeroed out retroactively to 2016 in the Ways and Means text. Almost all of ObamaCare’s taxes are repealed. But there are several concerns with the bill that have to be addressed, otherwise, this bill will be ObamaCare-lite. Read more here…
The GOP replacement to the Affordable Care Act is out, but Republicans are not on the same page.
Less than 24 hours after legislation was introduced, the plan put forth by House leadership won the approval of the White House, but sparked the ire of conservative organizations, health wonks and lawmakers.
Still, GOP leaders are pressing forward with markups scheduled for Wednesday in two House committees, despite not having scoring from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, which will calculate the bill’s costs and effects on health coverage. Read more here…
There is a meme developing in conservative circles that Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) ObamaCare Replacement Act, S. 222, retains ObamaCare’s costly refundable tax credits. This faulty narrative is developing as a way to tamp down conservative opposition to the House Republican ObamaCare replacement effort, which includes a refundable tax credit.
Doug Badger and Grace-Marie Turner of the Galen Institute, for example, made this claim today in a piece at Forbes, which they wrote, “[T]hough Paul has characterized Republican plans for an age-related refundable tax credit as ‘Obamacare Lite,’ his bill does the unthinkable: It retains the Obamacare income-related refundable tax credits.”
This is a gross mischaracterization of Sen. Paul’s legislation.
The Kentucky conservative has repeatedly said that he wants to repeal ObamaCare using the 2015-2016 reconciliation bill, H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, as the baseline. This reconciliation bill, which passed both chambers of Congress and was vetoed by President Barack Obama in January 2016, repealed the ObamaCare refundable tax credits in Section 202. Read more here…

Asheville TEA,

Last week RINO sellout John McCain betrayed conservatives, like you, by joining the Democrats and opposing President Trump’s now conservative budget director Rep. Mick Mulvaney. But the betrayal didn’t stop there. Susan Collins also broke ranks and voted with the big union bosses against Betsy DeVos’ confirmation and then she sided with the radical environmentalists against Scott Pruitt’s confirmation.

Asheville TEA, if we don’t rein in these RINOs now, they’ll betray us again and again, just like when they were part of the “Gang of 14” during George W. Bush’s presidency. That’s why we’re hosting a Day of Action on Wednesday, March 15th in Washington, DC featuring Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Jim Jordan.

Asheville TEA, we’re taking the fight right to these RINOs’ offices. We’re going to storm the halls of Congress and make sure that your Members of Congress don’t sell you out like McCain and Collins did to their constituents.
But before we do, Senator Ted Cruz and Rep. Jim Jordan will give you an exclusive legislative update. They’ll be talking about the upcoming battles in the House and Senate and how you can help them pass a bold, conservative agenda.

RSVP right now to join Senator Ted Cruz and Rep. Jim Jordan for FreedomWorks’ Day of Action.

And Andrew Wilkow, host of the Wilkow Majority, and the Rev. CL Bryant will be joining them to tell you how conservatives are the only one holding the Republicans accountable.

Asheville TEA, we’ve got a lot of important battles ahead of us. We’ve still got to repeal ObamaCare, confirm President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Justice Neil Gorsuch, and rein in Congress’ out-of-control spending. And we can’t afford to let these RINOs run wild and sabotage everything we’re trying to accomplish.

We’ve been lucky so far, but who knows how long our luck will last. That’s why we’ve got put an end to these RINOs’ schemes and get them back in line. And Asheville TEA, I’m counting on you to help us do it. That’s why I’m asking you to RSVP right now. Join us on Wednesday, March 15th in Washington, DC for this critically important Day of Action.

ATP will be managing the bus and attendance.  Limited number of seats.  Reserve yours now.  Bus will be in AVL and then make stops in other towns.  We need to know where you are.  Thanks.

Asheville TEA,

I would like to invite you to FreedomWorks’ Day of Action on Wednesday, March 15th in Washington, DC featuring Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Jim Jordan.

Asheville TEA, ever since President Trump took the oath of office, the radical left’s become unhinged.

They’ve rioted in the streets, smashed windows, and even set fire to a college campus, all to silence conservatives like you. And unfortunately they’re not stopping there. Now these extremists are attacking conservative Members of Congress at town halls. This is unacceptable.

Asheville TEA, if we don’t push back against these radicals now, they’ll ruin our chance to enact a bold conservative agenda. That’s why we’ve got to combat their craziness with ACTION!

That’s why we’ve got to get as many patriots to DC as we can. We’ve got to get through to these Members of Congress that we’re in charge and start demanding results.

But before we storm Congress, Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Jim Jordan will be giving you an exclusive legislative update. They’ll be talking about the battles brewing in the House and Senate and how you can help them repeal and replace ObamaCare with a true, free-market alternative.

RSVP right now to join Senator Ted Cruz and Rep. Jim Jordan for FreedomWorks’ Day of Action.

And they’ll be joined by Andrew Wilkow, host of the Wilkow Majority radio show, and the Rev. CL Bryant. Who’ll both be talking about how conservatives like you are the only ones who are holding the Republicans accountable.

Asheville TEA, at this Day of Action we’re taking the fight to Congress. We’re going to force these politicians to make America great again, whether they want to or not. But we can’t do this by ourselves. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Please RSVP right now. Join us on Wednesday, March 15th in Washington, DC for this critically important Day of Action.
