I hope you will attend the Buncombe County GOP (BCGOP) Convention this Saturday, March 25th at 8:30am at A.C. Reynolds High School, 1 Rocket Dr., Asheville, NC 28803. I would appreciate your vote for 2nd Vice-Chair of the BCGOP.
There is no cost to attend the convention but you must register between 8:30 am – 9:00 am and be counted present at your 9amPrecinct meeting in order to vote for the BCGOP officers. I would recommend arriving by 8:15am, if possible. Coffee, sodas, water and snacks will be available.
It is crucial to elect conservatives to the BCGOP:
- Our county GOP’s image has been tarnished by unethical Republican leaders who handed out marked ballots during last year’s primary, a violation of the party rules.
- The local party must recruit quality candidates for EVERY open seat instead of leaving them unfilled; Buncombe Democrat Brian Turner had NO Republican opponent for the state legislature last year! Unopposed Democrat judges are legislating from the bench in Buncombe. Sponsoring a campaign school for candidates and volunteers is a must.
- Vetting potential candidates is crucial – they must support our conservative Republican principles. NO MORE RINOS!
- We must play offense and issue statements to the local media supporting fiscally and socially responsible decisions made by Republican elected officials. I broadcast a weekly newscast on WHKP and publish articles in the NC Capitol Connection, The Tribune Papers, Carolina Plotthound and a national pro-life publication.
As 2nd vice chair, I will serve on the decision-making Executive Board and will be responsible for educational events and fundraising. My strengths are in networking; I have relationships state-wide with elected officials and potential speakers. I am experienced in recruiting donors to sponsor events and fund candidates. As a former elected official I understand the ins and outs of campaigning.
